The activated carbon filter cartridge fits in all osmosis systems with 10″ filter housings. This cartridge filters the following from your drinking water: ozone, pesticides, rust, limescale particles, chlorine, reduces the concentration of heavy metals such as lead and copper, etc. Activated carbon is characterised by its high efficiency and is used, for example, in industry. The water used there is first treated with activated carbon before it flows into our food, because activated carbon works very reliably and filters out most of the toxins.

Shelf life of the cartridge

In a four-person household, such a cartridge lasts for approx. 9 months with average water consumption, after which it can no longer adsorb the above-mentioned toxins from the water. However, the legislator specifies other time periods in which these cartridges must be replaced. DIN 1988 stipulates that all cartridges must be replaced every 6 months, otherwise there is a risk of contamination.

Differences to other activated carbon cartridges

These filter cartridges are also known as block activated carbon and are used in osmosis filter systems alongside post-activated carbon filters and garnished activated carbon filter cartridges. All filter cartridges are of course supplied in the usual high quality.
