The steels processed exclusively by Nesmuk guarantee extreme and long-lasting sharpness. Three of the four leather straps on the stable, oiled oak core are coated with diamond pastes of varying degrees of fineness. The fourth side without diamonds is used for final polishing of the cutting edge. The application is very easy and takes a maximum of two minutes. Position the 1st blade: The leather is inscribed. Start on the "rough" side (20 μ diamond) and determine the correct angle of approx. 15-18 degrees by placing the blade on the index finger as shown. 2. pull the blade from bottom to top: Pull the blade up over the leather. The fine diamond dust removes microscopic chipping and rounding. 3. pull the blade from top to bottom: After this pulling, lift the knife, turn it around and pull the other side of the blade down again over the leather. Three such pull-offs on both sides are sufficient. Repeat this procedure on the leather sides "fine" (5 μ), "very fine" (1 μ) and "finish" (without diamond). After some applications a dark steel abrasion will appear on the leather, but this will not affect the function of the strop, as the diamond dust will remain permanently in the leather. This way you keep the blade as gentle as it is permanently sharp when used regularly.
