Beurer is wisely silent about this in all available publications, because this scale made of cheap plastic is perfectly adequate for private use in the kitchen for weighing ingredients in 1-gram increments (even there with a certain margin of error). But if you need more precision, you have to go for a laboratory scale, which, however, is much more expensive, starting at CHF 800 for non-calibrated models...
Hey Anne, you have to stay on the "power" button long enough. As soon as it is no longer visible on the display, the scale is switched off. LG
Yes, the scale has a tare function.
I use the scale to weigh small quantities (tea, coffee, spices etc.) because it is accurate to 0.1g up to 500g. For larger quantities or bowls, plates etc. it has too small a contact surface. a) The scale is made of plastic and is robust enough for kitchen use with small quantities. It does not come with a case. I would not take it with me when travelling. b) The scale with batteries weighs 265g. In addition, a 200g weight is included to calibrate the scale.
