How do you clean the Philips filter mat for humidifiers? According to the instructions, weekly with water only. According to Philips customer service: Dissolve 24g of citric acid powder in 4 litres of water and bathe the filter in it and then rinse it out again; and then - importantly - let the filter mat dry completely and only then put it back into operation. -- Nevertheless, after a few weeks the filter starts to smell unpleasant and has to be replaced. It's annoying to have to spend CHF 20 per month. -- That's why my question: How do you do it?

I have a Philips HU4803/01 humidifier. I reordered a HU4102/01 filter mat last year. But this number is no longer in the range. Which filter mat fits this humidifier now?

I think something is wrong. The description states: "The Philips Avent replacement filter mat is a replacement filter for various Philips brand humidifiers. It is suitable for the HU4801, HU4803, HU4811, HU4813, HU4814 and HU4816 humidifiers." According to the Philips website, the HU4816 requires the FY2402 filter. What do you say to this?

This filter fits into the HU4816/10, but unfortunately it is not high enough compared to the filter supplied and therefore has a poorer performance---sorry, wrong description! Hallo, Sorry but I cannot tell you. I bought to my girlfriend and she started to use just 2 weeks ago. In the other hand I bought a machine (HU4811/10) and the filter was together in action. This filter for sure good for this machine but for yours I don't know. Goodnight

I clean the filter regularly with water and a mild detergent. However, since it is always wet when in use, I wonder if mould can form on the filter and then spread when it is moistened? Thank you for your answer.

According to the instructions of the humidifier, the filter should be soaked in medium strength or acid cleaner for 1 hour every week. We use citric acid. Please also note that the filter should not be squeezed or wringed out. The instructions also state that bacteria and fungi can form on the filter if it is not used for a long time. For storage, it should therefore be cleaned beforehand and dried thoroughly. In operation, therefore, it should not be a problem if cleaned properly. Since the filter should be replaced every 6 months anyway, we throw it away after one season and use a new filter for the next.

Yes, it fits, it says so in the description: "The Philips Avent replacement filter mat is a replacement filter for various Philips humidifiers. It is suitable for the humidifiers HU4801, HU4803, HU4811, HU4813, HU4814 and HU4816 from Philips. " I have the HU4813 model, replaces the original white filter, but lasts 6 months instead of 3. Hope this helps ...

Contrary to the product description, this is not the correct filter for the HU4816, it should be larger. The correct filter for the HU4816 is the FY2401.
