WMF Sharpening Steel 37 cm, Knife Sharpener, Sharpening Rod for Sharpening Knives, Knife Sharpener, Plastic Handle, Steel Length 23 cm
Whether for hobby or professional cooks: A sharpening steel is a must-have in any kitchen. When used correctly and regularly, it significantly extends the lifespan of your knives. Unlike knife sharpeners, sharpening steels are mainly used for slightly dull knives. The key to using a sharpening steel correctly is its surface. Smooth sharpening steels straighten slightly curved blades, while rough models sharpen the knives by removing a bit of the blade with each stroke over the sharpening steel, additionally realigning it. Tip: For sharpening knives with very hard blades, such as Japanese models, please use a sharpening stone. A sharpening steel is unsuitable for these knives, as the blades are hardened using a special process.
