Product details

Wagenfeld "Edition". Wilhelm Wagenfeld, a Bauhaus student and luminary in the design of consumer goods in post-war Germany, developed this series for the Württembergische Metallfabrik (WMF) in the early 1950s. The streamlined shape leads to organic forms of the butter dish, egg cup, salt shaker, and pepper shaker, all while maintaining functionality. Thanks to their solid construction, these dishes have been a staple on well-stocked breakfast and dinner tables in Germany for generations, recently reissued by WMF according to the original designs.

The Wagenfeld "Edition" salt and pepper set features a waisted glass shape that ensures finely ground pepper and salt grains loosen during use, preventing clumping. Two stainless steel covers with different sizes and arrangements of holes allow for easy differentiation between the nearly identical fillings of sea salt and white pepper. The salt and pepper shakers, affectionately known by WMF insiders as "Max and Moritz," are conveniently placed on a matte brushed stainless steel bowl, referred to as the "shuttle.".
