Yes, we have a short pile wool carpet and it sucks over it without any problems!

The Dreame F9 is a good robot, although, the Dreame D9 would be an even better one because it has the much more precise Lidar laser tracking system that allows for much more precise navigation. It does not cost much more. If you do not need a flat robot (the F9 is a bit higher because of the laser tower) I would suggest to get the Dreame D9.
