The beep is relatively quiet compared to other kettles. I had the same model a few years ago. Apparently the electronics have been revised and improved in my opinion (quieter beep, faster boiling at temperatures below 100°C).
I've had many kettles, but this one is the best so far.

I don't know if the beep can be switched off. But the sound is not disturbing.

It makes a sound when finished- reached temp and it switches off. There is a light boiling noise as well when it heats up the water.
