Does your kettle also whistle very loudly in a high-pitched tone during operation? Does everyone in the house wake up when I heat up the water?

No, mine doesn't. It just 'beeps' incessantly when it's done until you acknowledge the 'beep'. It's not particularly loud, but it's annoying.

No whistling here either. Without acknowledgement of the beeping when the temperature is reached, it stops by itself after 4-5 times.
