I have a previous model that I want to replace. It works with exactly 3 buttons on the unit: vacuum the flat, vacuum the spot and menu/reset for faults. I have neither the time nor the desire to deal with apps etc. to vacuum the floor! Does this appliance still have these mundane manual controls?

yes, it still has them, BUT then you don't need this model, one of the smaller versions will do.
