memory foam mattresses can damage them but i do not have such a mattress. I used a strong fan pointing directly at the matress afterward for a few hours to make sure it was completely dry, you do not want mold on a matress so make sure to dry it completely before redressing the bed. I suggest only using the washing and steam setting in a limited amount, instead use the steam only with suction as much as possible to avoid putting too much water on the mattress. I also pre-washed, before using the machine, i wiped the top of the matress with damp cloth of vinegar and water before. The vinegar i do not put into the machine clean water bucket only after does it go to the dirty water bucket. the results are excellent but a fan to dry is my best recommendation.
