We would like to use the dehumidifier primarily for drying laundry (laundry room approx. 20m2). What do you recommend: Wood's MDK11 or the MDK12?
Hello Anonymous, here are a few comments;
1. caution: The Kibernetik M20 is equipped with the refrigerant R410A. This is a fluoridated hydrocarbon and no longer complies with EU directives on Co2 reduction. This gas has been banned in mobile dehumidifiers and air conditioning systems in all European countries since 2020. the MDK21 has the refrigerant R290 and is therefore Co2 neutral.
2. maximum air circulation with the M20 is 150m3 with the MDK21: 190m3. So around 40% more. Good air circulation is absolutely crucial, especially in laundry drying. The water molecules must be "blown out" between the washing lines and in front of the dehumidifier so that the laundry can dry quickly. With the MDK21, a load of laundry weighing approx. 4kg dries within 2-4 hours.
3. the MDK21 comes with a 3-year guarantee. The M20 "only" fulfils the minimum requirement of 2 years
Conclusion:
Clearly the Kibernetik dehumidifier is inexpensive at first glance. However, the Wood's MDK21 proves to be much more economical in daily use. The additional price is amortised within a few months.
I hope that this explanation has shed some light on the subject.

Hello Anonymous, I recommend the MDK21 for drying laundry. This has considerably more air circulation and provides considerably more draught - which is very desirable in laundry drying. In addition, the MDK21 exceeds the requirements for energy efficiency class A by over 14%.
Wood's has been the Swiss market leader in the dehumidifier category since 2022. (GFK data)

For the laundry room, I recommend the Kibernetik M20. It is robust, inexpensive and has the same performance as the MDK21. I've had very good experiences with it. For other living spaces, the MDK21 is quieter and looks nicer.
