Depends on the dish. E.g. lentil curry for 4 p needs less space in the pan than a rollbaten.
I have 20 24 and 26 pans. I need 24 the most for 4 people.

26 cm is too big for 4 people, I would use a 24 cm pan.

We often make sugo for spaghetti, so there is room for 8 people. When we make risotto or ratatouille, it is for 6 people (good eaters). For 4 people, 24 cm is enough. We always make a little more and freeze it. My wife is thrilled with this pan.
