This simple broken ring bit features washers made of solid stainless steel and a mouthpiece made of soft iron with a coating (blue). The soft iron coating on the mouthpiece stimulates saliva production. When this material reacts with moisture, heat, and air in an oxidation process, the surface rust has a sweet taste. This promotes the acceptance of the bit. Eventually, the blue color fades, but the taste of the surface rust remains.

The anatomical design adapts to the shape of the horse's mouth, creating a gentle and even distribution of pressure. The canon of a simple broken bit tilts at a point. It affects the tongue, the bars, the corners of the mouth, and sometimes even the palate of the horse. When the reins are used, the bit takes on a V-shape. Since this canon has only a single joint, the tongue is freer than, for example, with a double broken canon. Thickness of the canon is 14 mm. Rings are 65 mm.
