Product details

The right protection devices for the most challenging rock cracks. The Ball Nuts were invented by John Middendorf in 1987 and were initially called Lowe Balls. They are the true secret weapon for climbers on self-belaying routes. In fact, they are small marvels that fearlessly tackle the narrowest rock cracks with parallel surfaces, where the only alternative would be to place a bolt. Additionally, they are ideal for pin scars (cracks created by constant placement and removal of bolts) and in small concavities where even the most advanced microcams cannot help. In short, the most experienced fans of classic climbing routes should always carry a pair of Ball Nuts (e.g., sizes 2 and 3) due to their extreme lightness.
