The Giga Jul belay device from Edelrid combines the functions of a tuber and an auto-tuber in a compact design. It is specifically designed for sport and alpine climbing and features an intelligent mechanism that allows the user to activate or deactivate the brake-assist auto-tuber function as needed. This enables situational belaying and rappelling, especially in alpine environments. The device is suitable for ropes with a diameter of 7.1 to 10.5 mm and is made from a smart hybrid construction that combines a lightweight aluminum body with abrasion-resistant stainless steel parts.
