The Ergon IP3 Solestar cycling shoe insoles are based on the patented Solestar Stabilization Delta and feature a three-layer construction with a core made of EVA foam. This highly load-stable yet flexible material has been specifically developed for use under high pressure loads. To ensure adequate ventilation of the foot, the insoles are perforated in the forefoot and ball areas.

The stabilization delta, which acts like a clamp in the cycling shoe, ensures a secure hold of the foot throughout the entire pedaling cycle. First, the foot is positioned in the optimal neutral position for power transfer and then maintained in this position over time. This achieves, firstly, a lowering of the big toe's metatarsophalangeal joint, secondly, an elevation of the outer edge of the forefoot, and thirdly, support for the ankle joint.
