The lightweight, compact Meteor helmet from Petzl, designed for climbing, mountaineering, and ski touring, features excellent ventilation and provides great comfort in both summer and winter. Its head-enveloping design ensures enhanced protection across the entire head area, even against lateral impacts and blows. The optimal all-around protection is due to the In-Mold construction of the Meteor. The outer shell made of thin polycarbonate prevents the penetration of sharp objects during rockfall, simultaneously protecting the inner shell made of injected EPS foam. The thick inner shell absorbs impact energy from objects or falls by deforming, distributing the pressure so that it does not act on the head at a single point. Thanks to this design, the Meteor is extremely versatile for mountain sports and even meets the CE marking for ski touring helmets. Specifically for this purpose, it can be combined with ski goggles or a visor. Please note that the Meteor does not meet the requirements of the helmet standard EN 1077 for alpine skiers.
