Length: 6.5 m Climbing high with the climbing rope? Absolutely. The Sport-Thieme climbing rope for gymnasiums is made of tear-resistant hemp and features a plastic shrink tube at the lower end. This closure prevents fraying of the rope and extends its lifespan. At the same time, it provides protection against injuries. At the upper end, there is a bracket made of galvanized steel for hanging the rope. The climbing rope is available in various lengths. Upon request, we can also provide the climbing ropes in custom lengths. Starting from a length of 5.5 m, the climbing rope is marked with a red tape at 5 m.

What rope length do I need? Please note when ordering the required climbing rope length that the climbing rope must start 40 cm above the ground, in accordance with the standards DIN 18032-1 and DIN 18032-6. Therefore, please order the rope 40 cm shorter. The correct rope length is determined from the rope length including the hanger. This is measured from the pressure point of the hanging bracket (upper end) to the lower end of the shrink tube. Since the ropes are measured under slight tension, this length may only stabilize after a period of being hung. To determine the required climbing rope length for your climbing structure, please first measure the distance from the hanging bracket to the ground.

Important notes for using the climbing rope: Climbing ropes must not be knotted, as this can lead to injuries when sliding down. The permissible load capacity is approximately 200 kg. Note for structural engineers: According to DIN 7911-2:1998-12, for the suspension of climbing ropes, rope ladders, swings, etc., each suspension must consider a vertical load of 2000 N and a horizontal load of 900 N (without dynamic coefficient).
