The Ultra UV Water Purifier from SteriPEN is a lightweight and practical UV water treatment system in a pocket-sized format. The integrated lithium-ion battery is rechargeable via USB. The Ultra UV disinfects 0.5 liters of water in about 48 seconds and 1 liter of water in about 90 seconds. The UV lamp lasts for approximately 8,000 uses. SteriPEN utilizes the disinfecting power of UVC light and completely eliminates the need for chemical additives in the purification process. The concentrated UV radiation kills all types of microorganisms, germs, bacteria, protozoa, and similar entities without negatively affecting the quality of the water. The application is incredibly simple: activate and select the amount of water at the push of a button, immerse the UV lamp in clear water, and stir. Once the display indicates successful purification, the water is safe to drink. A SteriPEN is an essential item for any outdoor expedition where access to safe drinking water cannot be guaranteed.
