It is a spacious mid-cut boot with classic barefoot shoe attributes and a grippy sole, designed to accompany you on light to moderate hikes while keeping your feet dry and protected thanks to the integrated membrane. Weighing in at 737 grams, the Ridgeway is quite light for such a shoe. Visually, one might expect a thicker sole, but Xero Shoes has simply wrapped the TrailFoam layer, which serves to cushion uneven surfaces, higher up around the shoe. Voilà, an illusion and function!
