Is the SOS function and fall detection only available with 4G or also with wifi? In other words, if my father falls in nature, could I be notified as an emergency contact? thank you for your help

The function is available with both the Apple Watch Series 9 Wi-Fi and the cellular (4G) version. Clearly, if you have the cellular version you don't need to have your smartphone nearby, but if you opt for the Wi-Fi version you need your smartphone for GPS data communication. The smartphone needs to be about 10 metres away to connect with the Apple Watch via Bluetooth.
