Garmin Edge 530
Garmin Edge 530
Question in the round, as I have lost the overview here with the sets. I just want to mount the Edge 530 on my road bike. The bike already has a power meter built in, so I don't need the cadence etc as separate sensors. Does this come with a speed sensor or is this done via GPS? Or do I have to take the bundle for the speed? Would be kind of nonsense, since I can already call up pulse + cadence and only the speed is still missing... Thank you for your support dear community :-)
No, there is no speed sensor, it is calculated via GPS. But the device is great, it knows all the sensors. I have a power meter, heart rate, speed sensor (not from Garmin but a cheap one from Amazon), and now the new Varia Radar with camera.
The speed is measured via GPS - this works relatively well. Occasionally it takes a while until the GPS signal is available. Once it was almost 5 minutes. But usually after a few metres of driving.
Thanks to all the feedback, the device alone without the holders is really perfectly adequate and a great investment!
Adding the power meter (performance) and the SRAM gearstick was also child's play.
The only small drawback is that I can't connect my Huawei Watch and now have to wear a chest strap or possibly buy a Garmin watch to see my pulse on the Garmin.
