The Hybrid Window Closer - the combination of spring and electric drive

Ventilating rooms not only provides fresh air but also helps remove carbon dioxide, odors, and excess moisture, thus preventing mold growth in your spaces. However, it is often forgotten to close the tilted window after airing out. This is particularly problematic in restrooms, bathrooms, or bedrooms, as valuable heating energy is lost during the cold season. Ventilation is only energy-efficient when it is time-controlled. The security aspect should not be underestimated either, as open windows invite burglars. The window closer addresses these issues by automatically closing the tilted window according to your time setting.

The new closing device combines a spring drive with an electric drive. When the window is opened, a spring mechanism is tensioned. This spring mechanism is connected via a gearbox to a small electric motor powered by 2 LR6/AA batteries. An intelligent, very low-power-consuming electronic system commands the closing process to begin after the desired time. The energy stored in the tensioned spring is used to execute the closing command almost to completion (up to 90%). As the spring mechanism loses strength during the closing process, the motor, powered by batteries, takes over the pressing force at the end of the closing process.
