Kusintha is a support project aimed at bringing about change in some of the poorest countries in the world. Among others, in Malawi, where "Kusintha" means "change" in the local language Chichewa. The project was initiated in 2018 by Christian Bitz and Lisette Rützou. Kusintha promotes important initiatives such as establishing local wells with clean drinking water or enabling access to kindergartens and schools. A shorter distance to the well saves time and provides women with better opportunities to work and gives children the chance to attend school. The Kusintha collection consists of products made from conventional glass and partially from recycled glass in attractive colors, designed to match BITZ stoneware. A portion of the proceeds from each sale is donated to the Kusintha project.
