Product details

The CAMTEC ESB101 series are cost-effective second-generation inrush current limiters. The limiters are designed for 115/230Vac 16A networks. The permissible mains frequency is 16⅓Hz – 440Hz. The ESB101 limiters are connected between the main switch/contactor and the load. The ESB series is approved for use with inductive and capacitive loads. At the moment of switching on, the inrush current caused by the connected loads is limited for a defined period of time, regardless of how high the actual starting current is. The limitation is always strictly enforced. After the time has elapsed, the current limitation in the ESB101 is bypassed, and the load is now directly connected to the mains. The mains can be loaded with short-term peak currents as usual (e.g., motors, pumps). If a power outage lasts longer than the defined time, the ESB101 detects this. When the power returns, the inrush current limitation is applied again. The device is monitored for temperature internally. In case of a fault, the device shuts down to effectively prevent permanent overheating or fire.
