Very often, portable electrical equipment must be used in firefighting operations. This includes any equipment powered by electricity, except for battery-operated devices. Primarily, generators are used for power supply during operations. In exceptional cases or due to specific operational situations, another power source, such as a household network, may also be utilized. In this case, the connection must be made via a personal protection switch. The DIN 14660:2020-06 standard defines the requirements that a personal protection device must meet to be used in firefighting operations.
