The window handle sensor allows for easy detection and signaling of open, tilted, or closed windows based on the position of the window handle. Note: This is a kit that needs to be assembled! This compact sensor is versatile, for example, in security applications to trigger an alarm, for heating/room climate control within an alarm system, as a status overview, or to initiate/terminate the lowering operation of a room heater when ventilating the room. Through the Homematic IP app, you can now also remotely check the closing status of all windows in the house at any time.

It detects open, tilted, or closed windows via the position of the window handle and fits all common window handle models (with a 7 x 7 mm square pin). Installation is straightforward and does not damage the window. The discreet and independent installation is powered by batteries. The sensor is suitable for windows that open to the left or right. A simple optical adjustment to the window handle is made possible by the included white and silver covers.

It can be operated with the Access Point in conjunction with the Homematic IP app, the Homematic central unit CCU2, as well as with many partner solutions. Operation requires connection to one of the following solutions: Homematic IP Access Point with a free smartphone app and free cloud service, central unit CCU2/CCU3 with a local user interface WebUI, radio modules for Raspberry Pi, and third-party partner solutions.

Additional functions when operated via the Homematic central unit CCU2 and Smart Home central unit CCU3 are possible, such as freely configurable action profiles in direct links with Homematic IP actuators and adjustable intervals for status messages.
