The Dista skirting board 2.0 is ideally suited for the visible fixing of decking. It acts as a spacer and allows freedom of movement between the panel and the substructure. At the same time, it promotes air circulation under the decking, resulting in less rotting.

Hardwoods and tropical woods should always be pre-drilled. The Dista skirting board 2.0 is fastened and fixed with decking screws Ø4 mm in the holes provided. Screws are not included in the scope of delivery; 5 screws are required for one Dista skirting board 2.0.

Note: The Dista moulding is made of hard plastic and is designed to prevent the stainless steel screws from shearing off. Shearing is caused by the swelling and shrinking of the wood, known as working. The working is particularly pronounced in the transverse direction of the planks. The wood "wants" to take the screw with it, while the lower part of the screw is still firmly seated in the substructure. As hardwood and tropical wood is very hard due to its high density, the screw has no chance of pressing into the wood when it is working. If the screw breaks off under this load, this is known as shearing. The Dista strip 2.0 was developed to prevent stainless steel screws from shearing off. It creates a movement space of 7 mm between the substructure and the decking board, allowing the stainless steel screws to move with it.
