Regarding battery and accumulator disposal: Since we sell batteries and accumulators or devices that contain batteries and accumulators, we are required by the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following: The symbol of the crossed-out trash can on batteries or accumulators means that they must not be disposed of in household waste after use. If batteries or accumulators contain mercury, cadmium, or lead, you will find the respective chemical symbol (Hg, Cd, or Pb) below the crossed-out trash can symbol. Every user of batteries or accumulators is legally obligated to return old batteries and accumulators. You can do this free of charge at retail stores or at another collection point near you. You can obtain addresses of suitable collection points in your area from your city or municipal administration. For batteries that contain more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury, more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium, or more than 0.004 mass percent lead, the chemical designations of the respective hazardous substance are located under the trash can symbol. The chemical designations have the following meanings: Pb: Battery contains lead, Cd: Battery contains cadmium, Hg: Battery contains mercury.
