Zeus ZXE Start-Up

At the heart of the HiFonics Zeus Evolution subwoofers are powerful Y35 magnets with a diameter of 140 mm, driving large 64 mm voice coils. These are ventilated with thermally optimized pole core drillings. Additionally, so-called "bumped" T-plates (pole plates) provide an even longer excursion, reaching up to +/- 17 mm (X-Max). While budget subwoofers typically use pressed cones, the ZXE woofers feature expensive, hand-crafted paper cones that are double-stitched with the surrounds, known for their exceptional sound quality. All these components give the ZXE subs an extremely high efficiency of 92 and 90 dB at 2.83 volts/1 m, meaning that even with a small input, the bass can achieve high volumes. The Thiele-Small parameters are designed so that the ZXE woofers can be used to build powerful bass reflex enclosures with deep bass response, as well as medium-sized sealed enclosures. Free-air applications are also possible. Visually, the Zeus subs meet the HF style: a newly tooled gasket, the typical blue magnet boot from HiFonics, and the blue stitched surround cone seam proudly display the HiFonics brand insignia.
