The TDR500/3 time-domain reflectometer is a compact, robust, and handy device for locating cable faults in networks made of metallic conductors. It offers a minimum resolution of just 0.1 m for troubleshooting very close to the cable end. At the same time, it has a maximum measurement range of up to 5 km, depending on the selected shortening factor and cable type. It utilizes four output resistances of 25, 50, 75, and 100 Ohms, as well as a shortening factor between 0.2 and 0.99. This makes the TDR500/3 capable of meeting all requirements in cable fault location. The operation of the TDR500/3 is greatly simplified by an intuitive 4-way control switch (joystick).
