This mortise lock features a magnetic latch and is used in combination with the magnetic strike plate B-30900. When the door is open, the latch is flush with the edge of the door. When closing the door, the magnetic latch is only pulled into the frame by the magnetic strike plate once the final position of the door is reached. This prevents the latch from hitting the frame or the strike plate, ensuring a damage-free and quiet closure.
