Exiting through a locked door is possible at any time using the interior handle, a panic bar, or a push bar. These mechanisms retract the deadbolt while simultaneously softening the latch (panic function). A knob or a handle bar is mounted on the outside. The door can be locked from the outside with a key by switching the mechanism. When the door closes, the lock automatically engages (self-locking).
