Product details
The Aeschynanthus Twister is a unique plant with long green vines that hang down. The leaves of the plant are curled, which is why it has the nickname "Twister." The Aeschynanthus originally comes from Malaysia and other regions in Southeast Asia. Here, Aeschynanthus means "flowers that are shy." It is unclear where this name comes from; it could be because the flowers remain hidden for a long time or because the flowers have a red color. The flowers of the plant are tubular and reddish-orange, making them very similar to lipstick. Therefore, the Aeschynanthus Twister is also nicknamed "the lipstick plant."
Care
The Aeschynanthus Twister is a plant of tropical origin. Therefore, it prefers plenty of light but not direct sunlight. The lipstick plant is very sensitive to too much water. It is best not to overwater the plant; the potting soil can dry out between waterings. In winter, the plant goes dormant and does not bloom, but it blooms very easily in spring. It is also good to know that the Aeschynanthus Twister is non-toxic. In the rainforest, it can grow up to 3 meters tall, but it does not grow as quickly in the living room.
