Pampas grasses originate from South America and are considered one of the most beautiful ornamental grasses. The grass can flower with beautiful, elongated plumes in white and pink colours. The long, narrow leaves complete the graceful appearance of this plant. Pampas grass is hardy down to -10 degrees Celsius and grows quickly. This type of grass does well in discounts, but is also beautiful as a single plant in a large pot.

Care
Pampas grass can grow quickly and become very large, especially when planted in full soil. It is advisable to prune the pampas grass in February or March. Cut the plant back to 30 cm above the ground. This vigorous plant is also evergreen in winter. Only in very harsh winters can the plant freeze above the ground. In this case, it will almost always sprout again in spring. The plants can grow considerably and the long, narrow and particularly decorative 'leaves' can reach a height of 3 metres.
