Product details
The Cycas revoluta, also known as the king sago palm or sago palm, originally comes from southern Japan. There, this palm can grow up to 5 to 7 meters tall. Cycas revoluta grows very slowly and takes between 50 and 100 years to reach this height. Cycas actually belongs to the group of cycad ferns, not true palms. The most remarkable thing about this Japanese cycad is that with proper care, it can last a lifetime, and it has existed since the Carboniferous period. Fossil palm finds suggest that it is one of the oldest palms in the world.
Care: The slow growth of Cycas makes it an excellent houseplant. The plant can also be placed outdoors, but not in direct sunlight and it is not frost-resistant. Additionally, the plant can tolerate temperatures ranging from 0 to 42 degrees Celsius. Cycas does not require much water; its roots are very sensitive to excess moisture. In winter, the plant can easily go without water for 4 to 6 weeks. It is important to note that this palm should not be consumed by humans or animals under any circumstances. The substances contained in the leaves are irritating and can be toxic if ingested in large quantities.
Size: The plants are delivered with a height of 45-60 cm, measured including the growing pot. The plants come in a growing pot with a diameter of 15 cm.
