Trachelospermum jasminoides officinale, also known as 'common jasmine', is a vigorous, deciduous climbing plant. This summer jasmine blooms from May to September with small, white, star-shaped flowers, followed by black berries. Jasmine is excellent as a climbing plant and for wall greening. Some plants may need a little support to climb high. By using plant supports and tying parts of the plant with string, they can climb upwards. The flowers, arranged in clusters, create a beautiful sea of blooms in both spring and summer. Therefore, the white jasmine is also perfect as a climbing plant to brighten up a dull wall or fence. Care
Jasminum officinale prefers a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade and well-drained, humus-rich soil. Common jasmine is somewhat hardy (down to -12 °C), tolerant of air pollution, not prone to diseases, and attracts bees and butterflies.
