The DuoFern smoke detector reports smoke development to the HomePilot or up to 10 DuoFern actuators. In conjunction with the HomePilot, it can trigger scenes in the event of a smoke alarm. For example, the lighting can be turned on and the shutters raised to secure escape routes. The smoke detector checks its battery status daily and transmits this information to the HomePilot. In case of a low battery status, the smoke detector signals that the battery needs to be replaced, which, thanks to the powerful 9V lithium block battery, is only necessary after about 8 years.
