The EBN 2 inrush current limiter (rail-mounted version) is used when high inrush current peaks can weld relay contacts. Electronic ballasts, fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, etc., along with the use of compensation capacitors, can cause inrush current peaks exceeding 100A. When the EBN 2 is connected downstream of the vulnerable contacts, it reduces current peaks to a non-critical level.
