When smoke is detected, the smoke alarm warns residents with a loud signal tone of 85 dBA and a flashing light. When integrated into the TaHoma smart home system, scenarios or if-then programmes can be triggered in the event of a fire. For example, all shutters and blinds can be opened to speed up the evacuation of the house and the light can be switched on for better orientation. If several smoke alarms are located in the house or flat, they receive a signal and warn the residents in the other rooms via their integrated siren. In the event of an alarm activation, it is possible to be informed immediately by e-mail or push message. The product complies with the EN 14604 product standard and the DIN 14676 application standard.

The detector can also be used stand-alone without a connection to the TaHoma smart home system, but then without networked security functions. The scope of delivery of the smoke alarm includes the detector itself and the necessary batteries. Technically, the smoke alarm works on a radio frequency of 868 to 870 MHz. It is operated with a power supply of 9V DC and a 3V CR123 battery for the radio module and a 9V block battery for the detector, is designed for dry living spaces with protection class IP 20 and can be operated in a temperature range of -10 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. Its compact dimensions of 120 x 146 x 48 mm make it an inconspicuous yet powerful component of the smart home system.

The product is "Smart Home Ready by Somfy" and can be integrated directly into the Somfy "TaHoma Switch" home control system, the flexible smart control system for networking home technology that is compatible with numerous manufacturers.
