The particularly slim jaws of this current clamp make it significantly easier to grasp individual cables between the cable channel and the contactor. This is the solution for tightly arranged cables in control cabinets. The specially shaped, slim jaws allow for the gripping of densely wired cables in control cabinets. With conventionally shaped clamps, the cable to be measured usually has to be pulled out of the cable channel. Not so with the Voltcraft VC-337, which simply reaches between adjacent cables.

The measuring opening has a diameter of 5.5 mm, allowing for wires up to 6 mm² to be branched off. The clamp offers a very good compromise between the size of the clamp opening and the safety class with appropriate insulation. Due to the shape of the opening, the clamp can also be used at an angle.

The open clamp has a stop that prevents cables from penetrating too deeply into the clamp opening. The 2-component housing with integrated soft rubber protection ensures that the measuring device withstands intensive use, and the rubberized housing shell makes it very easy to grip the clamp.

The current clamp enables contactless measurement of direct and alternating current. The advantage of this measurement method is the clamping function, which allows for current measurements to be carried out without the usual disconnection and isolation process of the circuit, effectively avoiding system failures.

True RMS measurement allows for accurate measurement of unbalanced voltages and currents that deviate from the fundamental form of the sine wave. Unbalanced voltages are often found in power controllers such as dimmers, speed controllers, switched-mode power supplies, pulsed chargers, or electronic speed controllers in model building, among others.
