The filter mat is made from phenol-free special foam that has been structured to achieve optimal filtration performance.
When water flows through it, it mechanically traps both coarse and fine particles.
After a break-in period, bacteria settle in the material, which contribute to biological pollutant degradation and thus improve water quality. Therefore, it is suitable not only for equipping external filters for aquariums or pond filters but also for constructing a Hamburg mat filter or a filter basin.
The foam mat is washable and therefore reusable.
