The lock has a latching function so that parcels can be delivered securely. To do this, the lock is first unlocked using a key so that the lock slides outwards. When the lock is released, the lid of the parcel box can be opened and parcels can be placed inside. The delivery person then closes the lid and pushes the lock in. In this way, the lid is locked, the parcel is secured and the box can only be opened by the key holder.
