Spacers are the optimal tool for laying tiles evenly and avoiding unevenness.

First, the spacers are placed in the joint. After the adjacent tile has been inserted, corresponding tile wedges are pressed through the spacers using a special pliers (not included) until both tiles reach the same height level.

Once the tile adhesive has cured, the spacers can be broken off at the predetermined breaking point. The lower part remains between the tiles and will be grouted, making it invisible after grouting.

The width of a joint depends on the material thickness of the spacer. For example, a spacer with a thickness of 1.0 mm creates a joint that is also 1.0 mm wide. To allow for larger areas to be tiled, the XPOtool tile leveling system includes an adequate number of spacers. The spacers are suitable for tiles with thicknesses ranging from 3 to 12 mm.
