The FIBARO Door and Window Sensor is a battery-operated contact sensor compatible with Z-Wave. It combines two devices into one easy-to-use product (reed and temperature sensor). The sensor can be used to monitor the status (open/closed) of doors, windows, window blinds, or garage doors. Additionally, the integrated temperature sensor measures the temperature at the installation site and reports the value to the Z-Wave hub. The product consists of two elements, one of which is mounted on the movable part of the window or door, while the other is fixed to the frame. The sensor must be included in the Z-Wave network using a remote control or another Z-Wave controller. When an action is detected by the sensor, it sends a signal to the Z-Wave hub. Compared to its predecessor, the FIBARO Door/Window Sensor 2 features a more compact and rounded design and a permanently integrated temperature sensor. However, there is no longer an available binary input.
