I would like to power this lamp directly from an outdoor socket in the hedge, how do I proceed? How do I get an outdoor power supply?

Hello, this basic set comes with a power supply unit. the extension comes without a power supply unit. But if you want to control the lamps, you also need the Hue Bridge, because without it you can't control the lamp via your mobile phone. For you this means you need

1 x Hue Bridge
1 x Hue Lily base set
And if you want more lamps you need the hue Lily extension.

Thanks for the answer - can I put the power supply unit in a hedge without worrying? I'm not worried about the plug, is the power supply 100% splash-proof?
