Product details
The Porsche 917 KH was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1969. The Porsche 917 established itself as a major surprise in 1970 and was able to secure the overall title for the first time thanks to its 5.0-liter V12 engine with an output of 600 horsepower. The "KH" stands for "Kurzheck," as the original version of the 917 was modified to deliver better performance on the racetrack. For example, by shortening the rear, it was possible to increase the width of the 917, allowing for wider tires to be fitted, which improved handling. This Porsche also achieved an overall victory in the 1000 km races. In the 24-hour race at Le Mans, drivers Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood drove to victory, completing a total of 343 laps.
