Steps for painting a bone-colored skull:
1. Take fine-grit sandpaper and lightly sand the skull, especially at the back where it was printed.
2. Prime the skull with some primer to weaken the print lines and help the paint adhere better.
3. Then, base coat the entire skull with a medium ochre or cream tone.
4. Mix the ochre with black or dark brown and paint the depths of the skull, such as the eye and nasal cavities. Also, paint scratches or hard edges and grooves on the skull.
5. Mix an even darker tone and apply it more heavily in the deepest areas.
6. Take a lighter tone than the ochre and wipe off excess paint before applying it to the high points of the skull (dry brushing).
7. Use pure black for the deepest holes in the skull.
