How can electricity be generated without harming nature and the climate? How can heat and electricity be harnessed from the power of the sun? And how do wind and water wheels, as well as a biogas plant, work? You will explore all of this by recreating your own fully functional small power plants using the included components and storing the energy generated. Where our electricity will come from in the future: Although more than half of the electricity in Germany is still generated from gas and coal today, the share of renewable energy, primarily sourced from wind and hydropower and photovoltaics, is continuously increasing. And it must continue to do so if Germany wants to achieve its climate goals. With this experimental set, children aged 10 and up will learn how energy is generated from nature and what the specific technical challenges are—from generation to storage of green electricity. It includes all the necessary technical components and templates.
